Jeb Bush may not be getting a lot of attention recently as a new CNN/WMUR poll found that only 10 percent of New Hampshire voters support the former Florida governor.
But maybe his mom can change that.
A new TV commercial featuring Barbara Bush - wife of President George H.W. Bush and mother of President George W. Bush - aired this week, with the former first lady telling the public to vote for her Jeb since he's a good father with a bigger heart than other candidates, CNN reported.
"When push comes to shove, people are going to realize Jeb has real solutions. Rather than talking about how popular they are, how great they are, he's doing it because he sees a huge need and it's not being filled by anybody," Bush said in the video. "Of all the people running, he seems to be the one who can solve the problems. I think he'll be a great president."
This is one of the former first lady's first public appearances supporting her son. She also penned a heartwarming letter asking voters to support Jeb, The Washington Post reported. In the letter, she explains how she didn't support her son's decision to run at first, but eventually accepted it.
"The sacrifice for his family was huge," she wrote in the letter. "I changed my mind as it became clear that he is needed. I admit to being prejudiced as I am his mother."
This might not be the only time we see Barbara Bush enter the campaign, especially after Jeb Bush told reporters last week that his mother was his favorite family member and is more important to him than his father and brother, which I wrote about.
"I get asked all the time: 'Well, are you like your brother? Are you like your dad?'" he told reporters. "I know there's a real fascination about this. Let's just - let me get this out of the way: I love my mother more than my dad," Bush told New Hampshire citizens in a town-hall style event. "Put aside all the 41 and 43 - who you like, all that stuff that's a People magazine kind of fascination."
