Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has a confession to make. The rocker took to social media recently to announce he has welcomed a baby into the world -- with a woman who isn't his wife.

The legendary rock star opened up about this significant and challenging chapter in his life in an Instagram post.

"I've recently become the father of a new baby daughter, born outside of my marriage," he shared on social media.

"I plan to be a loving and supportive parent to her." He continued, "I love my wife and children, and I am doing everything I can to regain their trust and earn their forgiveness."

This news arrives amid Grohl's ongoing efforts to maintain his family's privacy and unity. He expressed gratitude for the public's understanding and consideration, emphasizing the importance of moving forward together for the sake of all the children involved.

Dave Grohl and Jordyn Blum, who share three daughters—Violet, Harper, and Ophelia—were last seen together at a Wimbledon tennis match over the summer. The couple, sitting in the Royal Box alongside notable personalities like David Beckham, appeared united and in good spirits.

Grohl's journey with Blum began in 2001 when they met, leading to their marriage two years later. Blum, a former model, and Grohl have built a life together that blends family and career. Notably, Blum co-directed the Foo Fighters' Walking a Line music video in 2002, showcasing their collaborative dynamic.

Grohl's first marriage to photographer Jennifer Leigh Youngblood ended in divorce in 1997 after three years, reportedly due to infidelity.

The rock star, who has often been described as a 'family man,' has spoken about the importance of his family in interviews throughout the years. Speaking to TIME in 2012, he said his family 'changed everything that I do.'

He added: 'It's changed everything that I do. When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate. It's inevitable that that would make its way into your songwriting.'
