1. Watch out Chicken Little: the sky is falling
China's first space station - Tiangong-1 - is out of control and expected to crash on Earth this weekend. While scientists don't know specifics, they calculate that the landing will occur between 43 degrees South and 43 degrees North latitudes (aka several states in U.S. from California to Pennsylvania).
What to say when your kid decides to wear a helmet to school...
Surviving reentry into Earth's atmosphere is more like a walk in the Hunger Games than a walk in the park. In other words, the space station isn't going to come crashing through your roof. However, it is expected that pieces of the space station will survive reentry, but the odds of getting hit in the head by a piece of space metal are crazy low - as in less than one in a trillion.
If you want to do something a little more exciting than watching the sky for rogue pieces of metal, try making these glow in the dark bubbles and fruit rockets!
2. Washington bids conversion therapy

Conversion therapy is the practice of trying to change someone's sexual orientation from either homosexual or bisexual to heterosexual. Washington isn't the first (and likely won't be the last) to make this therapy illegal to children, although there are still 40 states that allow it.

There's no user manual that fits every parent on talking about tricky topics like sexual orientation. After all, each family has different values, different dynamics and different communication styles. But if you want some suggestions, check out Dr. Aron Janssen's six suggestions on how to have these healthy conversations with your children. Then do what works for you.
