John Legend’s daughter Luna has shown she's quite the skilled negotiator.

In a recent video shared by Billboard, 8-year-old Luna interviewed her dad about his new children’s album, "My Favorite Dream." During a funny moment, Luna quickly took the opportunity to ask for a smartphone after Legend mentioned that he and Chrissy Teigen, who are parents to Luna, Miles, Esti, and Wren, have been getting advice on the dangers of phones and social media.

John told his daughter, "Lately, we’ve been getting some good advice about like phones and social media and how dangerous they are, and how we’re not gonna let you have a smartphone until you’re like, 16 years old. What do you think of that advice?"

"How about we compromise on nine (years old)," Luna playfully suggested when Legend asked for her thoughts on their decision.

Maybe it worked, maybe it didn't, but the Grammy winner laughed heartily at her suggestion, clearly charmed by her attempt.

And Luna’s interviewing skills? They’re just as noteworthy. In the 10-minute video, the two discuss Legend’s children’s album. Luna contributed some of the cover art and provided vocals on a track called "L-O-V-E."

"Now that I have four kids, and I've watched all of you guys react to music and fall in love with music in different ways, I felt like I was inspired to write an album for my kids and then for all the other kids that are out there and their parents, too," Legend told his daughter.

At one point, Luna asked Legend, "What do you love most about our family?"

"I think the purest love you can have is the love for your family," he answered. "When your mom and I look at you and your siblings, we see ourselves, and we want to share all our knowledge and life lessons with you, helping you grow into the best adults you can be."
