John Travolta shared a sweet throwback video of his late wife, Kelly Preston, to Instagram on Mother's Day. The "Grease" star shared a video of Preston opening a gift on a previous Mother's Day, captioning the video, "Happy Mother's Day Kelly. We miss you and love you! Love, Ben, Ella and John." In the video, Preston beamed as she opened a white box decorated with blue flowers with the word "Mom" written on top. "Oh my God!" she exclaimed. "But first I want to hold it like this," she said as she held the box to face the camera.

The couple was married for 28 years until the actress passed away in July 2020 after a two-year battle with breast cancer. Travolta announced the news of his wife's passing on his Instagram in July 2020 where he said, "It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with breast cancer. She fought a courageous fight with the love and support of so many," he added. "My family and I will forever be grateful to her doctors and nurses at MD Anderson Cancer Center, all the medical centers that have helped, as well as her many friends and loved ones who have been by her side." The pair shared three children together, Ella, 23, Ben, 12, and Jett, who sadly passed away at the age of 16 in 2009 after suffering a seizure while on a family vacation to Grand Bahama Island. In April 2022, Travolta shared a throwback photo of him and his late son in honor of Jett's birthday saying, "My dearest Jetty, I miss you more than words can say. I think about you everyday. Happy Birthday. Love, your Dad."
