"Barbie" star Margot Robbie, 34, is expecting her first child with husband Tom Ackerley. While vacationing in Italy, Robbie was seen wearing a white crop top with a black blazer over her shoulders where she debuted her baby bump for the first time. Although the two stars have not made a statement about the news, multiple sources have confirmed to People that the pair is expecting their first child.
Robbie and Ackerley first met in 2013 on the set of the World War II drama, “Suite Française," where Ackerley was an assistant director and Robbie was starring in the film. They remained friends at first and worked together for the production company LuckyChap on a four-person producing team that also includes Robbie's childhood friend Sophia Kerr and Josey McNamara. The company has produced several successful films and television series such as, "I, Tonya," "Birds of Prey," and "Barbie." Last month Ackerley opened up about his relationship to The Sunday Timesabout how he and Robbie balance their personal and professional lives. "[We spend] 24 hours a day [together]," he said. "It’s seamless. We don’t have a toggle on, toggle off. It’s all become one thing."
They reportedly tied the knot in December 2016 in an intimate ceremony in Byron Bay, Australia. That same year, Robbie spoke about her relationship in an interview with Vogue, saying it caught her by surprise. “I was the ultimate single gal. The idea of relationships made me want to vomit,” she said. “And then this crept up on me. We were friends for so long. I was always in love with him.” She continued, “But I thought, ‘Oh, he would never love me back. Don’t make it weird, Margot. Don’t be stupid and tell him that you like him.’ And then it happened, and I was like, ‘Of course we’re together. This makes so much sense, the way nothing has ever made sense before.’”
