Becoming a mom is one of the most wonderful things in the world, but creating that perfect little child definitely takes a toll on the body.

Fitness coach Sharny Kieser knows the struggle all too well. As a mother of six, she found it extremely frustrating and difficult to deal with the stretch marks she had received during her pregnancies. In a heart warming post, she tells how she got to the point where she didn't even see the point in exercising anymore.

She lost all hope of achieving body confidence

She said in her Instagram post, "I used to not see the point in exercise because my body was covered in stretch marks. What's the point in having a great body if I will never wear a bikini?"

Kieser even got to the point where she would avoid situations where she would have to wear a bathing suit all together.

What her husband had to say about her stretch marks

Then one day, everything changed. She overheard her husband talking with his friends about her stretch marks. In her post, she explained that her husband said, "[Her stretch marks are] a sign of being a woman. They are a result of the great love a mother has, that she would scar her own body to bring a child to life."

As she listened to him talk, she began to understand that her scars weren't anything to be ashamed of, but something to be proud of. Her sweet husband's words completely changed her mind.

She finally started to love herself

She said, "I started to love myself for what I had now, the body I had now, I began to treat myself better. I WANTED to eat healthy. I WANTED to exercise. I WANTED to do the things I loved."

Her husband's words were just what Kieser needed to rediscover her confidence.

Now, Kieser proudly wears a bikini.

Not only is she confident in herself, but she's helping other struggling moms find their confidence as well. She has created a program to help moms get their bodies back feeling healthy and strong, while giving them a mindset change to help them be happy with their postpartum bodies.

Change starts with self-love

The whole point of her journey is that she needed to love herself before she could make any changes to her body. Once she learned to love herself, everything clicked and she achieved her dream body.

Your scars are beautiful

In a separate post, she says, "Scars are beautiful. They tell a story. They are unique. My scar story is that I carried 6 babies in my body. That's 4 and a half years of my life I spent pregnant. How can I possibly hate myself for that?"

Moms, you're beautiful whether you have stretch marks or not. Be comfortable with your body, no matter what type of body you have. Body confidence is something that's hard to achieve, but loving yourself is the first step to a life of happiness.
