Sofia Richie has revealed that she is expecting her first child with husband Elliot Grainge. The model, 25, confirmed her pregnancy in a new interview with Vogue where she shared she is expecting a baby girl. "She’s growing pretty fast, so [the due date] is a bit up in the air,” she said. “I love the YouTubes and the TikToks—even before I was talking about getting pregnant—of gender reveals, so we had our OB text my assistant Becca [our baby’s gender], and we bought two party poppers: one blue, one pink." She continued, "She left out the one with the correct color inside, and Elliot and I popped it together. We both really thought it was a boy, so it was a true shock. My dream in life is to have a daughter [though], and Elliot is really excited for a girl too. I think it’s so typical for boys to want boys, but he has a lot of sisters. It was really sweet. He’s very sensitive," Richie said of her husband.
Sofia took to Instagram to share photos from a maternity shoot, where she captioned the post, "Our hearts are filled with so much love! So thankful for all of your support! Can’t wait for this next chapter of life."
Richie and Grainge, founder and CEO of an independent record label, "10K Projects," tied the knot on April 22, 2023, exactly one year after the pair got engaged. They held a beautiful wedding at an exclusive resort in the South of France, raising the bar for celebrity weddings. With surprise performances from Richie's father, Lionel Richie, and Good Charlotte, the entire weekend was a celebration. "We recapped the night and ordered big bowls of pasta along with every French food you could imagine," Richie told Vogue after the celebration was over. "We just sat around recapping until the morning. It was great!"
In an interview with Who What Wear, Richie opened up about the time she first met Grainge, saying she knew immediately that she wanted to marry him. “When we started being romantic, he just gave me a different feeling,” she said. “It was a feeling of safety It was the feeling of really being appreciated. I knew when we started dating that he was my husband. It wasn't a ‘Do you think one day he’ll propose?’ It was like, ‘This is my husband — 100 percent.’ I felt this love for him that I never felt ever in my life.”
