Q May Chen was first diagnosed with breast cancer in March of 2013, but after treatment she went into remission, according to a local news site. Unfortunately, two years later her cancer came back, as stage IV.
But that wasn't going to stop Chen from fulfilling a childhood dream.
Since Chen was a child, she always dreamed about a stunning wedding photoshoot. "When I was younger, I loved to dress up and always hoped that I would one day be able to do my own wedding shoot when I got married." Chen told BuzzFeed.
She knew her cancer might prevent her from ever getting married. So, Chen celebrated her 27th birthday by picking out four stunning dresses for a professional photo shoot.
According to Chen, it was something she needed to do. This photo shoot helped her become more independent.
"I realized that even though I am alone, I can accomplish so much in life," she told BuzzFeed. "You don't need to wait for someone to complete you."
She hopes that her story will inspire other people who are going through hardships.
"I will never give up, I will never give up. I will continue to pass out the love I feel and will continue to share my story with you, and continue to write calligraphy, continue to travel, continue reading, keep walking and doing my favorite things," Chen said on her Facebook page.
