Are you encouraging your children to live their dreams?
It is important as a parent to let your kids feel comfortable dreaming. If your child wants to be a purple bumblebee when he or she grows up, then let them want to be a bumblebee. You don't have to crush your little one's dream just because you don't want them growing up believing in things that cannot be. Let them be little and dream big. If you show them that you disapprove of the products of their imagination early on, eventually they will stop telling you about their dreams and might even stop imagining altogether.
Instead, let them pursue their dreams and encourage your children to work hard to make them happen. Your kids will thrive as they feel your support. Sooner than you think, that purple bumblebee will be headed off to college, confident and full of dreams for the future.
