Chick-fil-A, a popular restaurant known for being closed on Sundays, was fired up and ready to serve on Sunday, June 11, 2016.

It's widely-known that this restaurant chain is founded on Christian beliefs, which has often created some controversy. But the establishment's regular schedule was disrupted on Sunday as the employees at a Chick-fil-A in Orlando were on their feet and working to make hundreds of meals.

The employees donated hundreds of sandwiches, french fries and gallons of iced tea free of charge to the hundreds of people waiting in line to donate blood for the victims of the massacre. Meals were also handed out to the law enforcement officers who were first responders to the attack.

The employees' selfless act demonstrates compassion, love, and kindness toward everyone who may or may not share the same beliefs. They took the time to open up their doors on a day off to sincerely serve those in need. And through that action is a message we should all take to heart.

The company employees also shared this message on their Facebook page:

"God

Bless the USA. Home is where the (heart) is. Orlando is our home. #prayfororlando."
