Last month, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's daughter, North West, performed as Young Simba in the Lion King's 30th anniversary celebration at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. But recently, Kim took to Instagram to showcase her outfit that looks strikingly similar to North's Simba costume. Coincidentally, the outfit that Kardashian has on in the photo was made by the same designer, ERL, that created West's Young Simba look. Many fans have accused Kardashian of trying to "outdo" her daughter. Instagram users were quick to make the comparison between the two outfits. "I thought this was the Lion King costume," one user joked. Another user commented, "You really can’t let anyone have their moment," while a different Instagram user echoed, "Imagine paying to let your daughter have a moment then not letting your daughter have a moment."

When 10-year-old North West made her Hollywood Bowl debut as Young Simba last month, many internet users were not happy about the casting. Her performance of "I Just Can't Wait to be King" went viral on social media where many people were quick to point out that the casting was an "obvious case of nepotism." One user on X, previously known as Twitter, shared their thoughts on the situation. "The whole North West/Lion King situation just reminds me of the real world (and) how interviews for a job/opportunity can go," they wrote. "It’s never WHAT you can do or how perfect you think you’re qualified but rather WHO you know. We’ve all seen it. This is no different." Another user on X wrote, "I’m all for nepo babies getting opportunities. But a hardworking theater kid deserved that role."
One of West's "Lion King" co-stars, Jason Weaver, shared an Instagram post with West saying it was an "honor" to perform alongside her. "I’m so PROUD you, North!! You’re doing a such PHENOMENAL job in this show!" He added: "You’re a true professional, and I wish you nothing but the best as you continue your journey towards GREATNESS!!"
