A teenager on TikTok recently shared a touching video where she explained how her best friend and his mom came together to take her prom dress shopping. Ava, who goes by the username @stewie.the.subie, posted a TikTok opening up about the loss of her mom at the age of seven. "My mom died when I was 7, and my only friend from school told his mom I don't have money for a dress for prom and she offered to take me dress shopping," she wrote in the text of the video.

The video, which has gone viral, is flooded with supportive comments. One user commented, "Pls do it ❤️Sometimes other moms need those moments too. I hope prom is amazing for you. If you need prom shoes. I got you." Another user commented, "Take it! She truly wants to be apart of your day! Also, as a boy mom, I’d love to be able to switch role one day and do prom dress shopping too!!" In a follow up video two days later, Ava thanked all of the people who left her kind and supportive comments and said that she would keep her followers updated when she goes dress shopping with her friend's mom later in the week. "I'm really appreciative of anybody who supported that video that blew up," she said. "I can afford to go to prom this year now. I originally wasn't gonna go ... You guys kinda made it happen and I appreciate that."

On April 18th, Ava shared a sweet video of her prom dress shopping with her friend's mom. She tried on half a dozen dresses where her friend's mom can be heard "oohing" and "ahhing" in the background. "Walk and twirl, but don't trip and fall!" the mom can be heard saying in the clip. She wrote in the video text saying, "Core memories with my stand-in mom." At the end of the video, Ava found the dress she loved which was a floor length blue gown.
