Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello have called it quits after seven years of marriage, the pair confirmed in a joint statement to Page Six. “We have made the difficult decision to divorce. As two people that love and care for one another very much, we politely ask for respect of our privacy at this time as we navigate this new phase of our lives," read the statement. A source close to the couple said that they had been "growing a part" recently. “Sofía and Joe have been growing apart for a while now and are taking some distance from each other to contemplate their future," said the source.
The "Modern Family" star was recently celebrating her 51st birthday in Italy with friends, with no sign of Manganiello in any of the photos posted to Vergara's Instagram. Although, Manganiello did share a throwback photo of the pair for Vergara's birthday just last week. He captioned the photo, "¡¡¡Feliz Cumpleaños Sofía!!!"
The pair first met in 2014 while attending the White House Correspondents' Dinner. Vergara was engaged to her then-fiance, Nick Loeb, but later called off the engagement. Soon after hearing the news of Vergara's broken off engagement, Manganiello reached out to his friend, and Vergara's "Modern Family" co-star, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, to set the two up. The two tied the knot in November 2015 in Palm Beach, Florida. In a past interview, Manganiello gushed about his wife saying, "My life is great because I really like my wife. I like talking to her. I like goofing around with her. We laugh all day long every day. My favorite thing in the world is making my wife laugh so much she cries. It’s the best."
