While vacationing in the South of France, Amazon head Jeff Bezos was photographed with girlfriend Lauren Sanchez who appeared to have a diamond ring on her left ring finger. A source later confirmed that the pair had gotten engaged after five years of dating. The pair was seen on Bezos' $500 million yacht while they spent time in France attending the Cannes Film Festival.

The pair went public with their relationship in January 2019 just days after Bezos finalized his divorce from Mackenzie Scott, whom he was married to for 25 years and share four children together. Sanchez was also in the middle of divorcing her husband at the time, Patrick Whitesell. Sanchez and Whitesell share two children together: Evan, 16, and Ella, 15. She also has a 22-year-old son, Nikko, who she shares with former NFL player Tony Gonzalez.

Sanchez gushed over Bezos in an interview with WSJ Magazine in January where she said, “He’s so happy, he inspires me every day, he makes me a better person every day; he’s the most loving human I know." She also took to Instagram in January to wish Bezos a happy birthday where she wrote, “Happy birthday to the man of my dreams, who lights up my world with his laughter and kind heart. You have shown me that no great love is not bravely fought for. Thank you for always being by my side and for being the most loving and supportive partner.”
