It's not any new information that infidelity in marriage is an occurrence that happens far too often. Recent studies have found that 30 to 60 percent of married couples will cheat at least once in their marriage. Shockingly, statistics have found that 56 percent of men and 34 percent of women who have had an affair state that they were happy in their marriages and according to a new study, people are happier in their marriage after committing an infidelity. The poll consisted of 1,400 people who have had an affair in their marriage, where 72 percent said their relationship with their partner had "improved dramatically" since they started their affair. Fifty-two percent of the surveyed said that their sex life with their spouse had seen an uptick since they started cheating on their spouse.

The study was conducted by an extramarital dating site called illicitencounters.com. The study found that nine-in-ten of those polled who were having an affair admitted to still engaging in sexual relations with their spouse. When asked if their relationship had been "better" since they began their affair, 72 percent of the people surveyed noted that it had "improved dramatically," with 26 percent of them saying their was "no noticeable change" in their marriage while 2 percent noted that the affair had taken a toll on their marriage. When asked about how their sex life has changed since the affair, 52 percent said they were engaging in more sex with their spouse, 23 percent of them said they were having less sex, while 25 percent of people said it stayed the same.

A spokeswoman for Illicit Encounters spoke about their findings saying, “We polled 1,400 married members to see what effect having an affair has had on their relationship at home. We found that 72% of married people say they’re happier in their marriage since starting an affair, and of those, 52% said they’re actually having more sex than ever with their spouses.”
