When you're at the office from nine to five, you miss what goes on at home. You don't see your wife rushing kids off to school, catching up on laundry, washing the dishes, mopping the floor and squeezing in time to play with her energetic toddler. There's a lot to handle, and her to-do list seems like it will never end.

Even though you aren't there to help manage the chaos, there are still some small but impactful ways you can help. Men, here are 10 things stay-at-home moms want you to know:

1. She needs your validation

You may think she already knows she's an amazing wife and mother, but she still needs to hear it. And she needs to hear it from YOU. Constantly remind her what a great mom she is by mentioning specific things she does.

Did she make a meal you enjoyed? Thank her. Did she fold your laundry? Mention it. Hearing you appreciate the everyday tasks will help her feel validated and keep her motivated.

2. Parenting is a full-time job

There are no holidays, paid time off or sick days. Parenting is an around-the-clock, 24/7 job. Just as you feel tired after coming home from a long day of work, so does she. If you come home to see her trying to finish cooking dinner before she has to take the kids to karate practice, step in and help.

3. She's exhausted

Because parenting is a full-time job, she's left feeling emotionally and physically drained by the end of each day. Rub her back or massage her scalp to help her relax.

4. She wants to be a Pinterest mom

But she fails miserably at it. Her cupcakes didn't turn out, and the adorable sign she was going to hang on the front door doesn't look anything like the picture does. Regardless, wrap her in a hug and tell her you love the things she creates for your family. Whether or not the craft turned out perfectly, it was made by her, and that's what makes it special.

5. She sometimes doesn't feel like a woman

It's hard to feel beautiful when you're sporting yoga pants and old t-shirts every day. Next time you're getting ready to go out, let your wife have the bathroom to herself and distract the kids with a game of hide-and-seek or their favorite book. Give her time to get ready without distractions. This will help her feel refreshed (which can be a major confidence boost).

6. She isn't perfect

Sometimes the dishes will pile up. Sometimes she'll wear the same pair of pants for a week. It's OK to let things slide every once in a while. We're all imperfect. So the next time your wife feels like she's not enough, remind her of all her amazing qualities that drew you to her in the first place.

7. She can't do it alone

She desperately needs you. She needs your support and love to make it through even one more day of spit-up all over her clothes and Legos strewn across the living room floor. Constantly make an effort to be there for your wife; she needs you more than you know.

8. She needs time for herself

She doesn't just want it, she needs it. Tell her to schedule a girl's night or run a bubble bath for her, then spend some quality time with your kids.

9. She appreciates you

She sees you working day in and day out to provide for the family, and even if she doesn't always mention it, she truly appreciates you.

10. She loves being a stay-at-home-mom

Even with all the hair-pulling, temper tantrums and carpet stains, she loves being a stay-at-home-mom. Her kids are her world, and he wouldn't trade her job for anyone else's.

Husbands, tell your wife how much you appreciate her. She works hard to keep the kids happy and healthy. And hearing your appreciation can be the boost she needs to keep going.
