The "honeymoon phase" of a marriage is a real thing, and if you're lucky enough to make it last forever, that's amazing. But, most of us aren't so lucky. We hit a wall where our relationship just doesn't seem to be progressing. It's not necessarily bad, but it's not as blissful as that first week you spent as a married couple vacationing in Mexico.

It doesn't have to be that way, though! When the daily grind seems unbreakable, do these things to spice up everyday life and have the relationship you've always dreamed of:

1. Go on a lunch date

If you're missing the days when you and your sweetheart got to spend all day together, go on a lunch date. It will break up your day and you'll get to spend extra time with your love.

2. Get to bed a little earlier

Life is exhausting and sometimes you fall asleep the minute your head hits the pillow. Instead, go to bed a little earlier to have some quality time with your spouse chatting, kissing and snuggling before you both fall asleep.

3. Leave a note on the mirror

You can really leave a note anywhere - the car, a purse, in a wallet or hiding in her makeup bag. Just make sure the note is sweet ... and maybe even a little spicy.

4. Have a spa night

Give each other massages, put on some face masks and enjoy a relaxing evening together.

5. Make an effort to touch

Relationships need physical touch to thrive. Hold hands while grocery shopping, steal a kiss every chance you get or let a touch on the arm linger.

6. Take more pictures

The only pictures you'll ever regret are the ones you never took. Take all the pictures you can, and set aside time to re-live those simple memories.

7. Dance in the living room

After you put the kiddos to bed, turn on "your song" and dance to it in your living room.

8. Go on a long drive

Long, scenic drives are great for relationships. The first time my husband and I took a long road trip together, we learned so much about each other. We even ended up falling even more in love.

9. Put your phones away

Spend an entire evening without your phones -your relationship will thank you.

10. Make a bucket list jar

Write down everything you've always wanted to do but haven't (within reason), and put them all in a jar. Whenever you haven't planned this week's date night, do something from the jar.

I'm working on a video about how to make a DIY Bucket List Jar. What's on your bucket list for 2017?

11. Do something spontaneous

Go on an adventure and have an exciting and romantic experience with your honey.

12. Have a sleepover

This sounds silly because you sleep together every night, but you can make it fun. One night, my husband and I pulled our mattress into the living room, had a movie night before falling asleep. It was awesome.

13. Try something new

Try something you've always wanted to try, whether it's a new restaurant downtown or finally getting that kiss in the rain.

14. Get a bath bomb and use it together

There's nothing more relaxing than a warm bath, so grab a bath bomb and your sweetheart and relax together.

15. Look through wedding photos

Wedding photos can bring back feelings and memories from your special day you can't get anywhere else.

16. Say "yes" for a whole day

Don't let your spouse know you're doing this, but spend a day agreeing to everything your sweetheart asks. They'll love it, and you'll love helping them out.

17. Be excited

Be excited to see your sweetheart, to hear about their day and to spend time with them.

18. Take the Love Language test

The Love Language test is the best way to know exactly how to make your spouse feel adored.

19. Re-live your first date

Go on your first date again and reminisce about what it was like (and how far your relationship has come).

20. Plan your dream vacation

You don't have to plan it for the near future, but having something to work toward and look forward to as a couple will help your relationship grow.

21. Recommit to your relationship

Recommit to your marriage every single day and look for ways to be better.
