Some people feel that being strong means being independent and not needing anyone to rely on. They could not be more wrong. Being strong means knowing that sometimes, you need other people to help keep you sane, safe and on the right path.
Behind every strong woman is a support group of equally strong women (and men) who are ready to help in every situation. Here are six types of friends every strong woman has.
1. Someone who believes in her
Even the strongest woman needs a cheerleader. Not because she does not feel she can do it, but because she needs someone to reassure her and keep her going when the doubts creep in. The world is full of haters, and it's hard to ignore them sometimes. She needs a friend to silence those negative voices. This friend is most likely a spouse or family member who really knows the potential she has.
2. Someone who keeps her on track
There is always that one friend who seems to have their life together. She eats healthy, works out every day and has the best relationship with her significant other. Being around her just makes you feel inspired. This friend is usually great to have as a workout buddy, a mentor, and friend who will give you a good kick in the pants when you need it!
3. Someone who brings her back to reality
She needs at least one friend to keep her grounded. That one friend that can remind her that although flying off to a foreign country with a man she just met may sound exciting, it probably is not the best idea. A friend to challenge her ideas and make sure she knows what she is doing. Those friends are usually a bit more negative than others, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing — especially if they have her best interest at heart.
4. Someone who is 100 percent honest
Every strong woman needs someone she can turn to when she really needs to hear the truth. Not just a "Do I look fat in this outfit?" truth, but a truth that may be hard to hear. A friend that isn't afraid to hold an intervention when they see her heading down the wrong path, even if it means they may lose her in the processes. This relationship is hard to find, but when she finds it, she will hold on tight.
5. Someone who knows how to have a good time
Having someone to turn to when she just needs to burn off some steam and have fun is essential for every strong woman, especially if she has a hard time letting loose. This friend is ready to go at all times!
6. Someone who she can be herself with
Having someone she can let down her guard with and be completely herself is vital for any woman. This friend is not going to judge her. They will not think she is crazy or weird, but rather join in right along with her. This type of friend doesn't care what she looks like or what she is doing. They just want to spend time together.
Sometimes a friend can fill more than one of these roles, or there may be a separate friend for each quality. Whatever the case, a strong woman knows having someone in these situations is so important.
