Have you noticed less and less people calling you up for a night out?

You start asking yourself, "Did I say something?" when in fact it may not be something that you said.

There are many things that you may be doing right now that are making you unappealing to friends, family and potential companions. You are probably unaware of these things but are doing them daily.

Here are eight things that could possibly explain why you are stuck at home alone on a Friday night:

1. Too competitive

Everything is a competition with you. You compare yourself to everyone, which causes you to judge him or her by their imperfections. You treat your everyday actions as if you are competing against someone and you have to be the best.

The glory and pride you think is all in your head is actually seen by your peers and is a big red flag.

2. Complaining

Whiny people are the most annoying ones. Especially when they complain over the silly stuff. If you are looking for someone to listen to your complaints, talk to your mirror at home in a private place.

Complaining brings a negative energy that brings more than just you down. It spreads to everyone around. If you are mad at your husband, sister, work schedule or the way your hair looks, I would suggest doing something about it, instead of sulking.

3. Gossiping

Of course this one seems to be so obvious, but I bet you do it much more than you think. Just making a small comment to a friend about your coworker is a form of gossip. It is also a form of bullying.

It may be hard to stop at first but once you do, you will become more attractive to your potential partner, friends, family and even yourself.

4. Self-doubt

There is a balance between being too confident and not enough. Especially when you doubt your own abilities, it is hard for people to want to be around you. If you get overly dramatic when your two friends go out and don't invite you, they are not going to want to invite you the next time.

You are good enough. You are important. Even if you aren't included in everything, you are loved by someone, I promise.

5. Controlling

You think you are doing everyone a favor by leading the discussions, making the decisions and bringing all of the "good ideas" to the table when, in fact, you are doing just the opposite. You have now become difficult to work with.

Let someone else take control for a change. People will look up to you more if they can see that you know how to lead and follow.

6. Dependent

Do you call your friends and family for help more than they call you? This may be a sign that you are too dependent on others.

Offer your advice and help to others instead! This will be a nice change of pace and can remind you that you are capable of being an independent and intelligent person all on your own.

7. Stressing

Life gets rough and often comes with baggage we have to carry. The stress that can come from it is horrendous. But remember, you have been stressed before and got through it. And you will be stressed again, and will make it out alive, I guarantee. So don't drown in your stress.

Keep your life simple and do activities that will calm yourself down (yoga, sewing, writing, drawing, etc.).

Remember that life is good and it is only going to get better with every step you take.

8. Lying

Dishonesty causes others to lose trust in you. They will then have negative feelings towards you and your ability to be true to yourself.

Even lying about the smallest things changes your character in the eyes of those who uncovered it. Listen to what your mother always told you and view honesty as the best policy.
