It's fairly easy to spot a newlywed couple in public. They hold hands everywhere they go and sneak kisses when they think no one's watching. But over time, work, kids and responsibilities make it harder to show love to your spouse the same way you did when you were first married.
But it doesn't have to be this way - don't let time break the strong connection between you. Instead, use it to build your marriage every day. Here are eight ways to show your husband you still (and always will) want him:
1. Get the house all to yourselves
Ask your parents or a close friend to take the kids out while you get some much needed alone time with your spouse. Send the kids with money for the arcade, or let them have fun at grandma's house for a few hours.
2. Leave a saucy note in his pocket
Write something he'll love and hide it in his suit jacket, his notebook or in his lunchbox - somewhere only he will find it. It's sure to bring a smile to his face and leave him wanting you even more than he already does.
3. Kiss him unexpectedly
Don't think too much about it - just give your man a smooch! Kiss him on the lips or blow a kiss from across the room. This spontaneous gesture will remind him how much you want him all the time.
4. Call your mother-in-law
He loves his family, and he wants you to love them too. So, take a moment to call or visit your mother-in-law. Tell your husband you want him by fully integrating yourself in his family.
5. Read to your children before bed
When you make your children a priority, you are also making your family a priority. Read a book to your children before tucking them in, and invite "daddy" to join!
6. Tell him how much you appreciate him
Don't let his efforts go unnoticed, whether big or small. This shows you not only want him, but you need him too.
7. Tackle something difficult
This is something you probably do often (if not every day). Whether you have a job or are a full-time mom, you work hard to make your husband and child's life easier and happier. Your husband will notice you working hard for your family.
8. Be yourself
Show off your true self. After all, your personality and fun quirks are what your husband fell in love with. Embrace every skill and fault - they're part of what make you, you!
Show your husband how much you want him every day. By doing even the simplest things, you can make your marriage stronger than ever before.
