I don't believe in the typical idea of soulmates. I believe that everyone has several soulmates throughout their lifetime, each meant to teach you something new and guide you where you need to be.

Each connection is special and unique. And while I don't believe in love at first sight, I do believe that when you meet a romantic soulmate, part of you knows it.

Here are nine thoughts you have when you meet your soulmate:

1. Wow, this person is easy to talk to

You two just click instantly. You easily get past all the awkward small talk that two strangers always make, and start talking like old friends.

2. They really get me

You two are just on the same page with everything, and it's mindblowing. You don't ever have to explain or defend yourself because they agree with you and support you with everything ... did you two really just meet, or have you secretly known each other for forever?

3. They're hilarious

You two have the exact same sense of humor, so naturally they're the funniest person you've ever met.

4. I am acting like a complete doofus

Now that you two are totally comfortable with each other and acting like the best friends you were always meant to become, you start to become a little self-conscious. You worry that maybe you're a little over-excited, but ultimately you decide that you don't really care. You've connected to this other person, and even though you're acting a little silly, they're acting the same way.

5. OK, stop talking. They don't need to know all this about you

You've reached a level of comfort with this other person so quickly you don't quite know what to do with yourself. You're just giving them your life story, so you start telling yourself to reel it back a little bit. Maybe it's a little too much information at this point. You two just met, after all. You know this is the beginning of something incredible. You just know this person is going to be a huge part of your life - and you can't wait to see where they take you.
