Tim Harris is known as the only American with down syndrome to own a restaurant.

But he's decided to give it up - for love.

As CBS reported this week, the restaurant owner has decided to leave his job so that he can move to Denver to be closer to the woman he loves, Tiffani Johnson.

Tim has built a legacy at his Albuquerque roadside diner, mostly through giving customers hugs and spreading positive messages. He hopes to continue the trend in Denver when he opens a new restaurant.

"Every time I feel sad, my girlfriend makes me feel a lot happier," Tim told CBS. "(When I look into her eyes), I see love. I see joy. And I see that I have a future here."

Though Tim is the only restaurant owner with Down syndrome, he's far from the first business owner. Blake Pyron of Sanger, Texas, owns a snow cone stand that he works at in the summer. Pyron told USA Today he's always heard about what he can't do as someone with Down syndrome, but his ability to run a business has proven the naysayers wrong.

Down syndrome continues to be a common issue for children, with 6,000 babies born every year with the syndrome, which is about 1 in 700 babies, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. That number has increased by 30 percent since 2003.
