So you've met someone new and have spent some time getting to know them. You enjoy their company and are finding yourself becoming more attracted to them. Every love story you've seen has described love being this explosion of gush that comes over you, but you're not quite sure that's what's happening.

When it comes to falling in love, almost everyone know's of the gushy, heart-throbbing feelings that seem to pour out of people like vomit, making it obvious they're head over heals,  but what a lot of people don't often consider are the more subtle signs of falling in love.

Falling in love is one of the most wonderful, exciting, and complicated experiences we have as humans. Everyone has their perspective when it comes to love, and love can vary from person to person. If you have found yourself wondering if you are falling in love with someone, add some of these more subtle signs to your checklist.

You've lost interest in dating other people.

You no longer think about responding to text messages from people you dated previously, and the people you were interested in before, you've almost forgotten about. Your attention is focused on investing more into this one specific person, and everyone else, well they're irrelevant at this point.

You're always thinking about them.

If you find yourself constantly thinking about someone, this is a definite sign that you've developed a sense of care for them, and could very much mean you are falling in love. It may be as simple as wondering how their day went or seeing something on T.V. that reminded you of them. Whatever the case may be, they're constantly on your mind. Try not to let this scare you from pursuing them further, it's good that you are thinking about this person, and it doesn't hurt to let them know that you are thinking of them. It's a great way to show your appreciation for them and help grow your connection.

You aren't worried about getting hurt.

This person has made you feel so confident in what you have going, that the thought of them ever hurting you, or a repeat of your past, is the furthest thing from your mind. The anxieties you once had about dating are gone, and you feel safe. Love isn't supposed to make you feel like you're at risk of getting hurt, and you don't feel like that with this person.

You miss them as soon as they leave.

Even up to the time before you leave them, you're already thinking about and dreading when you have to say goodbye. Every moment you spend with them is so precious to you, and when you leave each other, you instantly start to miss them. Your heart sinks, and you immediately start thinking about the next time you see them. This is completely normal and a clear sign of your heightened infatuation.

You talk about things you'll do together in the future, not realizing you're talking about the future.

You both get excited talking about all of the things you want to do together in the future, not even realizing you're actively planning for the future, together. You enjoy each other's company, so naturally, you're both excited about doing things together. Whether it's a future date idea or even a trip to a new place, it's clear that your future involves each other, even if you may not realize it at the moment.

You're always talking about them.

You talk about this person a lot, without even realizing it. Face it, this person makes you happy, and you don't mind sharing that with others. You find yourself inserting them into conversations, even when they aren't around. Maybe someone brought up an interest of theirs, or you can't get over how good of a person they are in your eyes. When you're happy, you want to share your happiness with others, including talking about that special someone.

You're constantly glancing at your phone.

Maybe you haven't heard from them all day, or are waiting for them to respond to a message you sent. Either way, you're anticipating hearing from them, and sometimes it even makes you anxious. When your phone does go off, you get chills hoping that it's them and are eager to respond.

You're experiencing some slight jealousy.

You noticed that you get bothered at the thought of them entertaining someone else. So much to the point, it makes you cringe when you get on their social media profile and see comments with heart eyes, hearts, or any of the other subliminal love emojis. You're trying to figure out who this person is and why they are posting heart eyes under your love interest's photos.

That's right, at this point, you've probably already claimed them as yours, and while you don't own them or look at them as a possession, you want to be the only one giving and receiving heat eyes to them. This type of jealousy is completely normal, especially when you're falling in love. It's a sign of your grown emotional attachment to someone. Just keep the reins on this as you continue to develop your relationship with this person. Jealousy can be a destructive emotion in relationships.

Your playlist is filled with love songs.

Your most played songs include the sappiest of songs that you probably wouldn't have listened to as much before meeting this person. You find yourself jamming out to these songs daily, thinking about them. As you listen to the songs, you replay them and inset yourselves into them, almost like you're in a music video. It gives you butterflies thinking about the two of you in different stages of your relationship, and hope for the future to come.

Falling in love can be so subtle that we don't even realize it has happened until we're deep in it. Sometimes our hearts will act before our mind gets the chance to register what is going on. Love isn't rocket science; there is no right or wrong way of doing it. Each experience we have with love will look different from the previous, and that's part of what makes it so beautiful.
