Getting engaged to the love of your life is a huge milestone that everyone wants to remember. Some people even hire professional photographers to take pictures of the special moment so they can cherish it forever.
One man planning to propose on top of Hawksbill Crag in Kingston, Arkansas, hired Jacob Peters to do just that.
Picture perfect
Peters woke up at 2:30 a.m., hiked to the spot and took stunning photos of a lovely couple getting engaged at sunrise. As he was looking through the photos and texting his client later, however, he realized something was a little off.
The horrible realization
When Peters' client described the clothing he had been wearing, Peters noticed it was different from the clothing of the man in the photos. His client also mentioned being later than Peter remembered them arriving.
He realized he had photographed the wrong engagement.
Peters described his experience in a facebook post, saying, "So basically I spent 6 and a half hours, $40 in gas and food, 450 photos and took the wrong couples' photos. If anyone knows who this couple might be PLEASE tell them to reach out to me, I'll gladly give them the photos."
Finding the mystery couple
The internet wasted no time helping Peters find the couple he accidentally photographed. Within a few hours, they had found each other and were coordinating to get the pictures sent. The couple was surprised and excited about having their perfect moment captured.
It was a very happy day for them. David Le, the man in the photos, said in a Facebook comment, "I can't believe what I'm seeing! My fiancée is going nuts seeing this. She even got goosebumps over this."
As for the other couple, they were understanding and didn't get angry at Peters for the honest mistake. Peters didn't accept any money from his client and gave the other couple their photos for free.
The honest mistake led to a happy surprise for the couple who wasn't planning on having pictures of their engagement, and Peters is looking for a way to make it up to his original client.
