In a recent interview for his new movie, Gran Turismo, Orlando Bloom gushed over his pop star fiancé, Katy Perry, who will performing at King Charles' coronation on May 7th. "My girl's going to be singing, that's fun. I'm not going to make it there, sadly, but she's representing which is cool," the actor told Entertainment Tonight. "She does those big, historical things. It's wonderful. She sang for the president too. She does that." The "Pirates of the Caribbean" star referred to Perry's performance at President Biden's inaugural celebration, where he wondered who her next big gig will be for. "Who's left?" he laughed. "Maybe the pope. So yeah, it's exciting."
Recently, Perry opened up to Access Hollywood about what this performance means to her and what she plans to bring to the stage. "I'm just so grateful to be asked for these moments and that I have the songs to I think support them," said the singer. "It's all about the songs at the end of the day." Perry also noted how important it is that she is an ambassador for one of the royal foundations, The British Asian Trust. Perry explained saying, "It's natural because it's a foundation that helps in child trafficking which is massive and horrible. I'm also an ambassador for UNICEF, so both of those things really are my core values and as a mother, I know first hand what's most important — which are these innocent children."
The concert will be held May 7th, one day after King Charles and Queen Camilla will be crowned at Westminster Abbey. The concert lineup includes Katy Perry, her "American Idol" c0-star Lionel Ritchie and Andrea Bocelli, along with U.K. stars such as Sir Bryn Terfel, Freya Ridings and Alexis Ffrench.
