Your marriage seems to be missing the spark it once had. Perhaps you have fallen into a routine with your spouse and wonder if you have fallen out of love along with it. Love is most likely still there, but you do need to get that spark back.
Here are seven tips on how to help you fall in love all over again:
It's as easy as going to bed, getting under the covers, cuddling with each other, talking and falling asleep. Sleeping together is an intimate thing. You are vulnerable when you sleep. When you sleep together, you show you trust each other and you feel safe. Cuddle time gives you a chance to talk with each other and bond. 10 minutes of cuddling in the morning or evening can reopen lost communication channels.
You connect both physically and emotionally when having sex. If you usually wait until your spouse initiates sex, stop waiting. You tell your spouse that he or she is desirable when you initiate sex. Complimenting each other's abilities in the bedroom will increase the connection between you.
Don't be afraid to spend some time together in the shower. A kiss on your spouse's cheek or neck when you leave the bathroom can be cute. Such a simple action shows your love. Leave little notes on the bathroom mirror to tell your love that you are thinking about him or her.
You probably feel like your relationship has just become routine. So, add a little bit of spice to your relationship by doing something crazy or drastically different from your everyday pattern. Take the road trip you always wanted to take, or go on a short vacation. This will not only help you feel more attached to each other and hopefully make you smile, but also help you create special memories together.
Avoid bringing up past grievances (or holding grudges) and don't be conditional with your love ("well, if you loved me you would..."). In marriage, you are going to have arguments, so promise now to treat each other fairly. Treat your spouse with respect (especially when arguing) and don't blame your spouse for everything. Take time to truly listen before jumping in to share your two cents.
Put some effort into your appearance on occasion. Your spouse will appreciate the time you took to dress up a bit and look nice. This also helps you feel more confident. Your spouse should love you no matter what shape or size you are, but making an effort never hurts.
Take some time for yourself. If you spend all your time trying to please your man or woman, you will slowly wilt away. People are attracted to confidence. So go shopping for an outfit that you want or have a spa day. It's OK to pamper yourself.
Relationships are hard, especially when it's not the honeymoon stage anymore. To keep that spark, don't let yourself fall into a routine. Make an effort to have special moments, keep dating and keep putting effort into your relationship - if you do these things, the spark can return stronger than ever.
