Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles recently decided to clap back at the haters who were making negative comments about her husband, Jonathan Owens. Biles recently won the 2024 Core Hydration Gymnastics Classic in Connecticut, where Owens supported her while sitting front and center on Saturday. The gymnast posted a sweet photo of her and Owens at the competition where she captioned the post, "my whole heart 🤎🤞🏾 the best supporter, I couldn’t ask for a better husband." Many fans commented disrespectful things on the post and Biles took it upon herself to respond to the haters. In an Instagram story, Biles wrote, “I’m going to quickly address this, the joke was never a joke! “Y’all are blatantly being disrespectful to my relationship & my husband. So I’m gonna go ahead and say this one time. Respectfully, f–k off."

Earlier this year while appearing on a podcast with his wife, Owens, an NFL player, found himself in hot water after he admitted he didn’t know who Biles, who was recently named the most decorated gymnast of all time, was at first. The pair met on the celebrity dating app, Raya, in 2020 and Biles admitted that she was the first one to reach out. “I’m like, ‘Lemme see who this is.’ I never really paid attention to gymnastics, so it piqued my curiosity,” said the NFL player. The first thing that I saw was that she just had a bunch of [Instagram] followers. So in my mind I’m like, ‘Okay, she’s gotta be good.'” When asked how it was possible that Owen’s didn’t know who Biles was, Owens said, “When she won the Olympics, I was in college and we didn’t have NBC, we didn’t have Olympics channels, and we were in [training] camp [in] late July, early August. So I’m not paying attention. I never would’ve had a moment where I would’ve watched [her compete].” The internet criticized Owens for not knowing who Biles was before they met, but the pair has remained seemingly unbothered since.
