Sometimes we go through our day-to-day lives being unreasonably rude, and yet we don't even realize our actions until it is too late.
1. Checking your phone in the middle of a conversation
You do realize there are actual humans around you, right?
2. Not holding the door open for someone right behind you
Again, you do realize there are actual humans around you, right?
3. Not saying thank you to the person who held the door open for you
That person went out of their way to hold that door open!
4. Actually, forgetting to say thank you in general
Be a decent human being and say please and thank you.
5. Eating someone's leftovers without asking them
That chicken alfredo could have been their lunch for work tomorrow, but not anymore.
6. Interrupting someone when they're speaking
Take a deep breath before you cut them off. What you have to say can wait!
7. Not watching your language
Be respectful and aware of your surroundings. Children especially don't need to hear your swearing.
8. Refusing to admit you are wrong
Nobody ever died from being wrong. You will live.
9. Talking on the phone when you're the next person in line
This is just confusing. How does the receptionist check you in when she doesn't want to interrupt your phone conversation?
10. Sticking your nose in someone else's business
Your nose belongs on your face, and it should stay there.
11. Cancelling plans at the last second
Even if you just wanted to catch up on your favorite Netflix series instead of going to the baby shower, at least let someone know a few hours before.
12. Offering your opinion when it wasn't asked for
If it is not a helpful opinion, there is no need to offer it.
13. Complaining a lot
Everyone has their share of problems, and it's okay to blow off some steam. But don't get carried away. No one likes a downer.
14. Chewing with your mouth open
Manners. Manners. MANNERS.
15. Forgetting to turn your music down
Not everyone wants to hear the latest Nicki Minaj tune blasting from your sunroof.
16. Not covering your mouth when you sneeze or cough
Jimmy Fallon can explain that one for you.
17. Not being aware of your surroundings
Are you walking too slow? Are you blocking someone's way? Be courteous when you are out and about.
18. Forgetting someone's name for the third time
At this point, you're showing them that you don't really care who they are.
19. Constantly bringing the topic of conversation on yourself
Others' lives are important too.
20. Not using your turn signal while driving
Those who do not use their blinker shall be cursed. Or at least given a dirty look from the driver behind you.
21. Borrowing something for so long that it's practically yours
Your aunt is probably searching for that recipe book you borrowed thirty years ago.
22. Forgetting your friend's birthday
They may say it's okay, but it's probably not.
23. Leaving a bad tip
Leaving a few more dollars probably won't kill you.
24. Standing with your arms crossed
This may not feel rude, but it gives off an "I really don't want to be here" impression.
25. Yelling at the customer service representative
Even if you have been on the phone for two hours, the poor customer service agent on the other line is just trying to do their job. Yelling won't fix anything.
26. Gossiping
Even if you are dying to tell someone about Ashley's bad haircut, if it's not your business, don't spread it to others.
27. Being passive agressive
Even if you don't want to upset anyone with your opinion, it is better to choose a side than to imply that you don't care enough to choose one.
28. Being tardy all the time
Unless you are a queen, the world doesn't revolve around you. Being punctual makes you a very appealing person.
29. Neglecting introductions
Always introduce yourself, or ask the new guy what his name is. Include everyone.
30. Not paying attention
Make eye contact and listen to the person talking to you. Even if you can multitask, or aren't really interested, it is more polite to appear interested in what they have to say.
